Now that “Lost” is ending, what will all of those podcasters do?

Since the first episode of the ABC hit series “Lost” aired on September 22, 2004, there have been podcasts dedicated to the show. Throughout the run of the series, these fan-centric shows have been a haven for ‘LOSTees’ to come together and rejoice, complain, predict, and theorize about the show. Many podcasts have come and gone since the series’ began, with one of the most successful being “The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack.” The charismatic hosts have been fortunate enough to interview the cast and creators on the show on several occasions. With so much time invested into the examination of one TV show, what do you do when it comes to an end? Start over!

Big Brother Podcast Round-Up

There was a great season of "Big Brother" this year, and I think that at least half of the excitement about the show is thanks to the great podcasts dedicated to it.

Sistah Speak: Big Brother: Big Brother talk from a sistah’s point of view, which I called and emailed frequently.

B.B.A.D. Radio with Erika & Lorraine: They get lots of guests, and have great interviews with the final 3 from this season.

The Rad Reality Show: Has Michael "Cowboy" Ellis (BB5), Michele Costa (BB10), and April Dowling (BB10) as regular guests.

Babe and Mimi's Big Brutha Luva Podcast: 2 funny ladies podcasting about "Big Brutha." Their intro is priceless.

The BB Hour: Niki and Andrea manage to host this show on RealPlayer (also available on iTunes) and organized the huge Big Brother party in Vegas.

These podcasts kept me up-to-date on this incredible season, and they are all worth a listen, even now that it's over. There is a scramble to get the Houseguests on since they're out of the house, and since "Big Brother" doesn't have a reunion show, these podcasts are the place to hear the dirt on what went on during the season.

Introduction

Hello Radio Fans! I'm zh, and I would like to welcome you to the iLike Radio blog! This blog is my dedication to my favorite form of media, Radio! A little background on me: I attended Columbia College Chicago and graduated with a degree in Radio. I also briefly hosted a show called "The Zero Hour" on WCRX-FM in 2007.

I have always loved radio, talk radio in particular. So many of my precious talk stations have been killed off one by one. I should clarify that my preferance is FM Talk (Hot Talk or Jock Talk, as some have called it). No offense to the long-winded AM neck-shakers, but if I want to hear belligerent Rush-bots spew hate, I'll turn to Fox News channel.

The first casualty of the PPM-led, talk radio genocide was local treasure 105.9 WCKG-FM in Chicago. This station was home to some of my favorite on-air talents like Chicago legend Steve Dahl, and a duo that I was honored to intern for: Stan Lawrence and Terry Armour (God rest his soul). I honestly got choked up at this news. Currently, on that dial position sits a Lite-FM sound-alike, called Fresh FM (sounds kinda like a feminine product). All I have to remember them by are some great memories, a few dozen pictures, and a signed banner.

After this heart-breaking loss, I fell upon my backup station, KLSX in LA, home of the great Adam Carolla. Well, if you haven't been under a rock, then you know that they also folded up and were taken over by a Top 40 flavor-station called AMP. The only good news from this loss is that Adam has rebounded to have one of the most popular podcasts in the world. The aforementioned Steve Dahl has also started a podcast. I will speak more on both of these in future posts.

I think that at this point, you can probably understand where I'm coming from with my radio love, so I hope that this blog can become a source to you, as I will try to use it to recommend people you should be listening to, updating you on radio news, and giving my honest commentary as a fan.
